ADNET directly supported and continues to collaborate with the Department of Interior’s U.S. Geological Survey’s Earth Resources Observation and Science (EROS) data center in Sioux Falls, SD. Our team performed satellite data processing, developed and implemented archiving and data distribution strategies, help desk support, and outreach tasks. EROS is the primary data processing, archiving and distribution center for the LANDSAT remote-sensing satellite, as well as being the Land Processes Distributed Active Archive Center (LP-DAAC): the national data center for studies involving vegetation, erosion and other climate change indicators. With many natural ties to our work at NASA GSFC, we continue to collaborate with EROS teams on education and public outreach initiatives and to improve the archiving and distribution of data.
