SESDA II Staff Speak at Tribal College Forum

Staff from SESDA II spoke at the Tribal College Forum which was held from Sept. 7-8, 2006 in Bismarck Civic Center, ND. The Forum was held in conjunction with the North Dakota Intertribal Summit and United Tribes Technical College's 36th Annual International Powwow.

SESDA II Employees Receive Peer Award

On Sept. 6, 2006, a SESDA II employee received a Peer Award from Code 400 for Outstanding Team Mentoring. On July 19, 2006, four SESDA II employees received awards from Code 614 for Outstanding Support Service. GSFC Code 614 includes the Hydrospheric and Biospheric Sciences Laboratory. One of the four awards recognized an employee for the procurement, configuration and support of the Science on a Sphere display in the Goddard Visitor Center which is open to the public.

Solar Terrestrial Probes Education Workshop Held

In August 2006, SESDA II staff held an Informal Education Workshop. Educators from the U.S. East Coast gathered together at the Marian Koshland Science Museum of the National Academies of Sciences to develop strategies in how to promote, use and engage the general public on the importance of heliophysics to our society. The educators learned how to use various NASA resources and mission themes in their informal education programs.

ADNET Systems Commences SESDA II Contract

ADNET's SESDA II contract phase-in was successfully completed on July 1, 2006. We received many compliments from NASA officials for the smooth transition. Here are some sample comments:

NASA Honors ADNET Staff Members with NASA Group Achievement Award

In June 2006, ADNET staff members Paul Lang and Aruna Muppalla were among the recipients of the NASA Group Achievement Award for their efforts on the High End Computing Network at Goddard Space Flight Center. Both ADNET team members were presented with this highly coveted award "in recognition of the outstanding teamwork and technical excellence exemplified by the HECN Team members in making the first coast-to-coast 10 Gigabit per second network a reality."
